Lodging Property Members

Lodging properties that join MHLA benefit from association programs that help them operate more efficiently and profitably. Among the benefits of membership are a Worker’s Compensation program, a free listing on this web site, participation in educational programs, and representation in statewide marketing campaigns.

Web Site - www.lodgingmissouri.com: Increasingly, travelers are using the Internet to get information for travel planning. For lodging properties, membership in MHLA includes a free photo and property listing on our web site, plus a free link to your own web site. Travelers can even make reservations online, instantly, through MHLA's partnership with WorldRes.com (see below).

Internet reservations service: MHLA has partnered with WorldRes.com to offer online, real-time confirmed reservations with no up-front costs to you. All you need is Internet access with Netscape 3.0 or better and the desire to attract new business. For more information, call 800-230-7168.

Legislative services: Legislation impacts us all. As an MHLA member, you will benefit from the governmental consulting services of our registered lobbyist. You will receive regular updates and be able to participate in a “legislative day” when MHLA members visit legislators in the Capitol.

Insurance programs: MHLA can assist members with vital insurance coverage through its partnership with the Dodson Group of Kansas City. The company provides participating MHLA members with Workers’ Compensation and Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI). Members who work with them benefit from interest-free pay plans, professional claims management and affordable rates. Plus, MHLA members’ efforts to maintain a safe workplace can result in a dividend being returned to participants. Last year, the company paid a 15 percent Workers’ Compensation dividend to insured MHLA members. The Dodson Group’s EPLI coverage is vital to provide protection against employment-related lawsuits.

Annual Conference: MHLA members are offered discounted rates for participation in our Annual Conference and Trade Show. Education, training and business development all are part of the Annual Conference. The concurrent Trade Show offers a look at all the latest offerings from our allied vendors, suppliers and supporters. Other educational seminars are offered locally and regionally throughout the year.

Inn Sights quarterly newsletter: Inn Sights is distributed to all members of MHLA as well as to all state lodging associations nationwide. Business articles and profiles on allied members are regular features.

Checking In monthly bulletin: A quick look at developments in Missouri’s lodging industry is the focus of this reader-friendly monthly news bulletin, mailed to all MHLA members. MHLA members are encouraged to submit timely information about their programs and services for this monthly news bulletin.

Missouri hotel laws posting requirements: Missouri laws regarding innkeepers’ rights and responsibilities are required to be posted in guest rooms and other on-property locations. MHLA makes all required postings available to its lodging members. The association’s legislative consultant monitors any legislative actions which might change the posting requirements.

“Members Only” information: As an MHLA member, you will have exclusive access to even more timely information and helpful updates through the “Members Only” section of this web site.
